Hmmmmmm Es Cubelles... an interesting little place this.

So, the good points: fantastic little restaurant hidden amongst the trees at the back of the beach. Steep hillside behind (more of this later), long, curving pebbly, largely deserted beach with crystal clear water, the ultimate in peaceful, get-away-from- it- all beaches.

And the bad points? The extremely steep, extremely narrow, hairpin-twisting "road" leading down is made of concrete, teflon-coated slabs (well, almost). Although your hire car may well get you down without too much sliding into the trees below, getting back up may be a different story.

Our hire car refuse three times to grip the surface, the wheels preferring instead to rotate at great speed on the same spot. There is NO room for anything coming down if you are going up and if you slide sideways or try to pull over, you may well find yourself hanging over a steep cliff. Other than that, it's fine.
