Cala Llonga isn't just a fabulous beach - it is a resort in its own right, with large hotels and apartments to each side of the beach and a large range of bars and restaurants (including Italian, Chinese and grills) to choose from. Cala Llonga certainly caters for the British family, with Sky sports, quiz nights, Sunday roasts and all day breakfasts available! The sandy beach isn't very wide from side to side but it goes back a long way so there is plenty of room for sun bathing and beach sports. The water shelves very gradually - perfect for little ones to play in and there is even a pier where you can catch a boat for a trip round the island.

The east side of the island had a refreshing breeze when we were there (August 2009), which was very welcome indeed.

Away from the beach, you will find a medical centre, plenty of beach shops, supermarkets and a children's playground. There is even a fairground open in the evenings in the Peak season.
